December WRITE THE ROOM with Math - Grades 6, 7, 8
I love incorporating Math vocabulary into almost any Middle School Math Class. WHY? It's all for the student growth that teachers see when students put together concepts and vocabulary terms. That is FANTASTIC! I encourage you to check into my Math Vocabulary resources to help your students make connections in Math and TALK about Math more with the correct terms. When students TALK more about the Math, they are making connections, and mastering KEY math concepts.
This month I have created a set of vocabulary packets for Middle School students to work with their vocabulary with a holiday theme. Each packet contains grade level specific vocabulary. Check out the previews to see what words are in each grade level activity.

Christmas Middle School Math Activities
It's December, my favorite time of year, when all the students and teachers cheer the holidays are ALMOST HERE! It's also the time of year when I'm overloaded with lots to do, so if you're like me and would like some fun Math activities to give your students during this busy time of year I have solution for you!
This is a fun and engaging packet full of math review for Middle school students. These Christmas Holiday activities are centered on an ELF theme. Each activity is engaging, using HIGH QUALITY graphics, word problems, puzzles, or just fun review for students.
There are 5 different activities as listed above. Each activity has an ELF theme. Included are Math activities with operations with rational numbers, operations with percents and decimals, operations with rates and time, operations with time, and operations with integers. All of these activites are a great review for any Middle School Math student for the holidays.

Thanksgiving Math Center Activity: Turkeys with Numbers & Shapes {Pre-K & K}
I love creating math activities for my son. He loves to count and name shapes right now. Yesterday we made Thanksgiving Turkeys with shapes and numbers. I took pictures of the shape turkey since that is the one he chose to make. Here are the 3 easy steps to creating the NO PREP Math Center Activity of Thanksgiving Turkeys with Shapes.
This Math Center Activity is for Pre-K and K Math for students to practice their numbers and shapes with a Thanksgiving Turkey theme. There are six different scaffolded turkeys for students to create using numbers and shapes.

Teaching Functions {Grade 8}
A fun Pre-Algebra topic to teach in eighth grade math is functions. Students have prior knowledge of numbers, expressions, and variables which helps them to be able to write and find functions.
I have listed here five activities to review and practice Functions. I hope these help jump start your lesson planning into Functions. The key to getting your students involved in the learning process is to include interactive, visual, engaging activities for them to actively participate in.
These interactive notebook activities are intended to help students understand how to graph proportional relationships, understand that a function is a rule that assigns one input to one output exactly, compare properties of two functions, interpret the equation y = mx + b, construct a function, determine the rate of change of a function, and describe the functional relationship between two quantities.
Included are:
-4 different Functions activities to engage students
-Teacher facilitated activity for 60-90 minutes of classroom time
-Activities include: Vocabulary, Completing a function table and graph from a linear function rule, Writing a rule from two points using slope-intercept form, and Writing a rule, completing a function table, and drawing a graph from a function word problem.
-Examples of Completed Interactive Math Notebook Activities are included
This math station activity is intended to help students understand how to graph proportional relationships, understand that a function is a rule that assigns one input to one output exactly, compare properties of two functions, interpret the equation y = mx + b, construct a function, determine the rate of change of a function, and describe the functional relationship between two quantities.
